What Does WRAS Certification Mean for Your Water Tank?

WRAS stands for the Water Regulations Approval Scheme, a UK-based certification scheme that assesses whether products and materials are safe for contact with public water supplies. Although UK-based, WRAS approval is widely recognized internationally as a credible, independent benchmark for water-contact safety.

Why it matters for GRP water tanks

Water tanks that will store potable (drinking) water need to be made from materials that will not leach harmful substances or support bacterial growth. WRAS testing evaluates the materials and construction of a water tank against these criteria.

Union Fiber's WRAS-certified tank

Our flagship ZISIF GRP Hotpress Panel Tank is WRAS-certified, in addition to being SASO-compliant and manufactured to the SS245:2014 sectional tank panel standard. Together, these certifications give specifiers and end-users confidence that the tank meets internationally recognized standards for potable water storage.
