Understanding SS245:2014 — The Sectional Tank Panel Standard
SS245:2014 is the standard that governs the manufacture and testing of sectional (panel-type) GRP water tanks. It sets requirements for how individual tank panels are constructed and how the assembled tank performs under load and pressure.
What it means in practice
For a sectional tank to be considered compliant, each panel must be manufactured to consistent quality and dimensional standards, and the assembled tank must demonstrate adequate structural performance — including resistance to the hydrostatic pressure of the stored water.
